Living with Anteaters: March 2016

Aurora: Major play last night. Lots of chasing each other around and claws smacking against the ceiling as we battled.

I went for a stroll today. I circled the house many times before being locked in for the humans to eat breakfast. Here is a photo of me checking out the shed. There are a lot of things that smell of anteater in there.

Aurora: So I also pulled a screw loose and found my way behind the washer. The sink drain tube accidentally got unplugged in my struggles to try and fit through the drier vent tube. My head fits the rest should follow. I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work, yet somehow it never does.

The tube got all bent up and The servant had to reattach it. Apparently that's hard, not sure why it's easy to take loose. Then she accidentally pulled the washer drain tube loose when she pulled the barricades away and there was a flood. You'd think she'd be pleased. She needed to mop anyway after the stinky sink tube drained on the floor but no the words coming out of her would indicate otherwise.

I was up and down yesterday to get treats. Aurora was calm again. Today I'm relaxing as well.

This year's ants have arrived. Looks like the Chinese government made sure they were safe and comfy for their trip. Okay it just says safe but the comfy is implied.

Also I got up when mom opened the box so I could sample them. They are delicious.

Aurora found her way into the sand box during her explorations and she dug in it. Not sure if she was looking for ants or hoping to tunnel to China.

I was clawing at my log last night when mom saw a big black spot under my fur on my hip. So she came to investigate freckle? Mole? She moved the hair aside and the spot moved! She poked at it and it's legs wiggled. "What is that? Is that a ...? Oh it's just a ant biting you" *puck* Thick skin is nice and ants are yummy.

Mom came to the closet nest and gave me ants and poked me. I was going to just curl back up but she reminded me we have to snuggle after so we did and then I had to hug her as I dosed off to sleep. Then she watched me sleep for a bit before leaving, and for the first time ever she snuck off without waking me. She's getting more stealthy climbing down.

Beaker checks on Hyzzie. She was cold and teeth chattering so put her favorite shirt on her.

There was a new scary sounding monster in the room last night. It took a long time to work up the nerve to go past it. It may or may not have something to do with my staying in the princess hammock today but I complained about it on and off all night. Aurora seemed oddly unfazed.

Pua heard the space heater I set up for Hyzzie and took a long time to listen and sniff and think it over before finally moving to her dinner area.

She no longer is waking up shivering. She sleeps on the other side of the room from the wall heater and needed some help.

The noisy evil washer is running today so I left the princess hammock for the bed time washer with Aurora.

Gave up on sharing. I'm back in my closet nest.

Mom came to remove the soup bowl and offered me a fresh blanket. Yes please and some ants and could you tuck me in too? I want to be down inside the blanket today.

Puffy blanket in the closet today. These big ones are normally reserved for the washer. So comfy.

Sharing the washer with Aurora today but yesterday she shared with me as she was impressed with the puffy blanket.

Since you've not seen me cuddling with mom lately she gave photos a shot but I like to hold both of her thumbs so don't like photo time. Also it was in a dark room and mom's rusty at the selfie thing.

Was sleeping in the closet and then: I smell ketchup! Did you put ketchup on your breakfast? I need ketchup! Don't make me come down there!

They always both want that bed, even when the sun is in the other one.

I rang my bell so much last night and then mom took it away. How rude.

Aurora: The lights went off so I got up and left the washer to run around for the night only to have the servant come home from walking the dogs an turn them back on. How do I keep track of the time if the human plays games with the lights like that? And there's a monster-cycle growling next door which makes me even more nervous so I've settled into the closet nest with Pua.

Yes our trees grow algae on them.
