Aurora:
Last night I noticed the human had woken up so I lightly dinged the
bell once and backed off to wait for my treat. The servant says this is a
nice change from Pua's incessantly ringing it as loud as she can till
she finally gets something. I do try to be polite, until you touch me,
then you'll start hearing some choice words.

Servant: No, I was checking on you. You sounded strange.

Servant: Well it was really, really loud. I'd never heard anything like it before.

Aurora slept in her box so I got the washer to myself.
Oh and I did a fridge raid last night. Made a claw hole in the blue
cheese mix lid and drank it all and clawed open the ant dust baggies.

Busy
night last night. I tried to raid the fridge but it was locked so I
climbed up on top. Mom came and removed the vinegar so I'd not find
anything of interest up there and be discouraged to do it again.
Later mom was having dreams about giving me enrichment to keep me out of
trouble and that I really was going at the box she gave me under the
bed. Then she woke up as Aurora and I spilled out from under the bed
playing.
Aurora is camera shy but mom managed to sneak a couple
pictures. Aurora was suspicious of the focus preflash so looked at the camera.
Then we ran across the room and continued the battle on the doorstep.
That's when I found the vinegar! I stuck my claw in the lid then toppled
it over and the lid popped off. The noise sent Aurora running for the
safety of the closet. The noise of her running sent my climbing the log
to my bath area for safety. And then mom had to mop up a half gallon of
vinegar. She wrung some of it out into my bath area so I had a really
good bath later.

Pua is impossible to share a room with today so I got up and went
across the room, even with the human being awake, to go to my box.

Aurora:
Beaker was being a jerk last night so I was scared to go past him to
get to my box. I have just now left the washer and made my way past the
human to go into my box. Ah, home sweet home.

Tried
to raid the fridge but it was locked and I wound up on top, knocked
some things down, was unable to poke holes in the coconut powder bag.
Earlier in the evening I played and cuddled with mom. I didn't find the
log chunk too interesting but Aurora had some fun with it later. She's
in the washer with me today.
Aurora is anxiously awaiting the big storm and keeps peeking out of the washer to see if it's here yet.

Aurora:
big poofy blanket in the washer so was sharing with Pua but it's hard
to share a room with her. So I got up. I checked out my box but had to
make a second circle around the room first before settling in. Yes, this
will do.

cut nightly play and snuggle time with mom short to go play with Aurora
last night since I saw she was up early, but she didn't want to play so
I had to mope about it.

Aurora:
Decided to stay in the washer and now Pua has left me for the closet. I
am contemplating a run for my box but it is nice and comfy in here.

We've
been fairly quiet lately. Aurora spilled her ants last night. She has
the washer so I took the closet though we shared yesterday.

I got up last night I rushed right over to the little hammock and

got up late last night but mom made time to play with me anyway. Aurora
took to her box to sleep today so I have the washer to myself.

Mom
tried a small comforter in Aurora's box instead of the flat blankets or
wool one last night so Aurora was pleased to sleep there today. I
decided to go to the closet nest anyway to sleep so mom took advantage
to hose out the washer. She said it wasn't too bad though since we have
recently been treating it as a pee free zone.
Not sure what changed but Aurora rarely wets her bed any more, she just pees in the closet nest instead once she gets up.

Cavewoman for Halloween. I felt I nailed it on the first try but mom talked me into trying again.
Lots
of snuggle and play time with mom last night then I went to play with
Aurora in her box. Later I kept trying to raid the fridge but it didn’t
work.

Mom
hung a wet towel on our ladder to help loosen up the grime from our
hands for cleaning. It was dripping onto the washer. Aurora found this
unacceptable and after peeking out to see what the noise was she left
for her quiet box.

had to get up and have my supplements this morning and after I got back
Aurora left for the quiet of the box though she popped back out at
first and rang the bell. Mom gave her a treat and changed the blanket in
her box and then Aurora was happy.

So
anteaters are not very visual since they are gathers rather than active
hunters. That makes any enrichment that doesn't involve food hard to
come by. But they are very reactive to sounds so I tried playing this
last night

I
played with mom last night and bugged her for snacks. Then I got moody
and cried, maybe because there wasn't enough treats or I heard
something, I'm not telling. So mom put on my rain forest sounds and that
helped. So I tried to raid the fridge and tossed things on the floor.
Aurora hadn't gotten up yet so mom turned the sounds off later and
Aurora got up and ate eventually. I'm sure Aurora would prefer country
music all night instead.

I
took the time change seriously and got up at 10:30 last night, instead
of after midnight. Aurora got up not long after. Then I was up late
eating food till a bit after 9am.

and rang the bell for a treat. Last time she did that mom gave her a
treat and changed her blanket this time Aurora just got her treat. Well
when she got back to her box she wasn't happy so came back out and sat
on the shelf above mom grooming herself. Soon as she saw mom had changed
the blanket she came running back down into her box.
I slept in the closet yesterday and woke up late but I still woke mom for treats once I was up.

I
had a great fall walk today. It was a bit cool for an anteater so I
wore my sexy shirt but it's not as sexy as it claims as it made me look
like I have love h
andles.
I took it easy and sniffed lots of trees. A couple trains went by and
those are so scary. I wanted to hide in the old tube thing but did not
want my bag. I got tired and turned back but made the most of it and
explored on the way back.
I got so tired I kept trying to find a
place to sleep but kept refusing my bag. I was just tired but it was fun
so I didn't want to go home just nap in a burrow but none were big
enough. I finally got so exhausted that I lay down next to a tree.
Then mom shoved me in my carry bag against my will! I squirmed and
clawed the whole time she carried me till she let me out. So I then ran
happily to show her I wasn't so tired but that didn't last long. I
curled up to nap soon as I got in the car. Mom started to carry me in
the house but I got down and walked myself. After a groom on the shelf I
went back into the washer.
After a brief rest I realized my tail was still sticking out and pulled it in with me.
So some photos, the first aren't the best but they get much better and help show the story.

Pua
gets up and has a vinegar bath then stops to have her supplements so
Aurora comes out and see's the bridge is gone so I go to change put it
down, "I didn't know you'd be getting up now", so Pua crosses the bridge
while Aurora runs off to avoid me and goes the long way. So Pua will
have the closet and Aurora will have the box today. ~ Pua's mommy

have been pooping from the closet perch for awhile now. So long mom
stopped putting a pad down by the play box. But I made a statement last
night by pooping from the box, in front of the heater.

we played and snuggled and I had some of Aurora's cocktail since she
wasn't drinking it.

Aurora:
Pua came and stole half my ants last night. She rarely even eats the
ants anymore, she's all about the coconut, but if I have some she always
steals. Bu
t she later tried to make it up to me by taking me on a fridge raid but we couldn't get it open.
So we chased and wrestled each other around the room and under the bed
and battled on the stairs. Then I lead her into the fennec cage to
continue the play fight. She was nervous about going in there but I
convinced her.
She climbed up onto the shelf to fight down at me,
then... I ran away and left her there and she got confused and took
awhile to find her way back out. "ha, ha, got you back"

I
was snuggling with mom and dozing when I felt ants crawling all over my
tail! I sat up suddenly so excited and sniffed all over my tail but
could find no trace of them. I sniffed more and sniffed mom's hands in
case she took them, sniffed the hammock, sniffed my belly, sniffed all
around and sniffed my tail lots more.
Mom: Sorry my hair brushed against your tail when I leaned forward.
No I felt ants! They must be here somewhere, sniff sniff sniff
Mom: no really it was just my hair.
Well that was a mean trick but I'll finish snuggling with you anyway, but, are you sure Sniff, Sniff.

Aurora
has the washer so I took the closet nest. I was all sprawled out
sleeping when mom came along. She snuggled me and then started trimming
my toenails! I tried to ignore her at first but then she got annoying
and I curled up so she only got one foot done. I guess I'll be lopsided
tonight but a girl needs her beauty sleep.

Since
mom had to thaw ground beef to make food she left it out last night in
our dinning area. Such a special treat I didn’t wake mom at all for
treats last night. She did get up once and while up gave Aurora some
ants and a bit of coconut for me so I tried ringing the bell for more
but she ignored me.

Aurora:
Pua was moody last night and I didn't want to share the washer with her
but I was not pleased with the blanket in my box. It was quite the feat
but I managed to pull the blanket out of the hole in the box, around
the corner out from under the bed, over into the closet, up the closet
shelves and deposit it in the poop catcher. There that's what I think of
this blanket.
However my servant was sleeping on the job and did not see this till morning so I sat in an empty box
.
So she opens up the box and I'm expecting a treat but she has a blanket
instead so I had to run in case she was trying to catch me with it. I
paced around for awhile and was given a treat. I did look in the box a
couple times but felt settling there would be risky now so I made due
with the closet.
Well Pua had heard I got a treat and got up for one too then joined me in the closet.
Everything has worked out the opposite of what I had planned.
Aurora and I spent Thanksgiving in the closet nest together. Today Aurora has returned to her box but I'm still in the closet.
Aurora was scratching herself and her claws knocked on the box walls. Beaker got excited for a moment.
Aurora

louder in person. That one loud one at the end is how she sounds a lot
of the time.

We
haven't been using the play hammock since mom put the cage topper on as
it hangs too low and touched the cage topper. So mom finally put a
smaller hammock up. Aurora immediately took advantage of it by peeing in
it. I don't think that's what mom had in mind Aurora.
