OMGOSH! I think mom finally fixed my blood sugar. Mom came to poke my foot. She actually expected my blood sugar to be high since I managed to open the fridge door a crack enough despite the barricade(I've been practicing and building up muscle) to get in and poke holes in the buttermilk. Mom said that was the final straw and she will get latches for Grampa to put on Monday.
Anyway I was 175 via our chart that converts the human meter results to estimated anteater results. This is thrilling. With results that low I can go for walks safely again(exercise has caused my blood sugar to spike so can't go if it's not low to start with). The new supper supplement is Now Pancreatine. It's pancreas extract and digestive enzymes that the pancreas is supposed to make when healthy.
Aurora: I tossed a few more books last night and tried running over when the human opened the fridge but she didn't let me into it. She continues to fail me as a servant.
Last night I woke mom for some cuddles instead of treats. Sometimes I just need a little love.
Aurora: I get up. I go groom on the shelf. I ring ring ring the bell with my nose. I am brought my cocktail. Pua comes and it's a race to see who can drink the most. I ring the bell again to say thanks and let Pua have the rest. Time to pace and maybe build enough confidence to go outside.
I got up this afternoon and mom gave me some ants on the way to the washer and poked my foot. She seemed pleased and I went on into the washer. She then came with some more ants laced with a bit of pancreatine, just to be safe she said, then went off for a bit and came to get me for a walk once she was ready.
We went to the fish hatchery trail. Mom said to take it easy so I
mostly brisk walked with intermittent jogging. I had a blast. Just when
we were on the way back I heard assassins. As usual mom insisted it was
just a family with a dog but I know assassins when I hear them so I
began looking for a place to hide.
Mom set my bag down and suggested I hide in there. I decided she was right. That looked like a good place to hide and I climbed right in. She started carrying me back. She offered to let me out once we were away from people but I decided she was right about taking it easy and said no thanks so she carried me back to the car.
I stayed in the bag till we got back to my room and now I have rejoined Aurora in the washer.

Maybe I should go that way

On mom's walk with the dogs she heard some pretty chattery short of musical whistles and looked up and saw seven bald eagles swirling around in a "flock". Who knew they could sound so pretty?
I slept in the washer with Aurora today. This is notable as I've mostly been taking the closet nest and letting her have the washer lately.
Got up to use the facilities. Found a fresh blanket in the closet. Burrowing down inside now.
Aurora: I keep getting up then sniff out the window and realize it's cold and go back to bed. Also am trying out the closet with Pua and trying to get an afternoon cocktail delivered.
Was nice and sunny today mom offered to take me for a walk but when she showed my my carry back and harness I just went back to the closet. The dogs went to the park and sat in the yard a bit now it's gone dark and thundery and raining.
I keep trying to raid the fridge at night but the new locks foil me and I wind up on top of the fridge and need help down. Someday she will forget to latch it though and I will be waiting.
It's a bit chilly today. I'm going to go sleep in the washer with Aurora.
Got up. Sniffed out the window. Going back to bed.
I got onto the fridge last night but there's no tail hold to climb down. So I wrapped my tail around the bucket of diatomaceous earth and leaned out to try and get mom's attention to save me. I and the bucket fell instead. Lid popped off. White powder everywhere.
Was going back and forth between the washer and the closet. Mom got me a fresh blanket in the closet so I'm burrowed down inside it now. Perfect.
PS: what is wrong with taking a thorough vinegar bath and getting all soaked then climbing on a sleeping mom in bed?
Aurora just emerged from under the bed to join me in the closet.
I had been going back and forth between the closet and the washer and mom came to offer me a fresh blanket but I just wanted to snuggle and hold her super tight. Why can't she just curl up on the closet shelf with me all day?
Mom gives Hyzzie dog and Beaker dog each a bowl of food. They turn their noses up then go and devour the food from the others bowl(same food). I guess the missing spice was thievery.
Had some snuggle time on the cage then some play time then snuggles then some more play in the play hammock.
Then I managed to talk myself into going outside and enjoyed the night air and the compost pile. Not sure why mom was complaining about the smell and wiping me down after, it all smelled delightful to me.
So I might have eaten some fermented melon deep down in the compost last night before mom realized I wasn't after bugs. That may or may not have had something to do with my being extra snuggling with mom last night. I spent a lot of time laying on top of her in bed.
Aurora: When the servant came home from walking the dogs she opened the door for them and I came out. I had a good stroll around the garden and yard and even sprinted a bit. Then I checked over the house inside before coming back to my room. I went back and forth from the closet and under the bed for awhile but finally settled under the bed.
Beaker found a very gravid(pregnant) looking garter snake in the yard. It only squirmed a bit when sniffed at and stayed put. She had her head under a clump of dirt and thought she was hidden.
Played on the cage last night with Aurora. I fell off once but just onto the top of the desk. I didn't bug mom too much. I had an avocado and a couple roses.
*jingle jingle* Yes I know you just crawled into bed and turned the lights off. That's how I know you're not busy. *jingle*
Aurora's got her period. Guess she was unconformable. She got up around 7 to join me in the closet. It's her first heavy period since she started the grapefruit juice therapy. Mom brought her a cocktail with some K added since all that blood makes mom nervous. Of course I got up to share.
(Vitamin K. Anteaters don't recycle K like normal mammals do and instead rely on a lot being in their diet. It's like they are always on rat poison. The food alone is normally enough with the diet we use but Aurora is "special" so sometimes gets a boost in supplement form during her period. It helps it not look like a murder scene. It was really nice with her not hardly spotting at all once on the Grapefruit. Not sure why the switch back this time.)
