Living with Anteaters

So Mandua attacks Pua when put in the cage. I only tried a couple times once the gloves were right but he's nicer to her outside of the cage and his attacking her wasn't going to help her relax about him. So I've let it go at the slower natural rate.

Mostly they have chosen to be apart. Occasionally he'd come to eat her food or sleep in her hammock. If she was up she'd chase him off. She chased him out on laundry day but he likes her hammock and kept coming back other days. This has helped them take some baby steps forward.

On another night he got the best of her and she backed down the tower. Later she came back up and had a treat till they squabbled over the hammock and he left to go pee in the closet.

This have since gotten more interesting.

I brought her to me to snuggle a few times then night before last I woke up to her playing under the bed. She chased Mandua back once and I played with him till she went back to her area.

So last night I missed something as I woke to an anteater coming from the direction of the closet. I assumed Mandua and played a but then it climbed it bed with me and played, which was odd but okay then I was an anteater in the play pen since I was sitting up. After a moment I realized it looked like Mandua then I finally woke up enough to know it was mandua there and Pua with me, lol.

She played with me and snuggled with me and draped herself over them then she went insane and growled and clawed madly at me. Well, I was not happy and held her claws and gave her a talking to and she left. She played under the bed some and I went to play with Mandua since I was up.

She came out later and tussled with him going passed to go to the window so I opened it for her to sniff and played with Mandua more. Once done she curcled around the room and came back. Played with her a bit and when she lost interest I went back to Mandua.

She then came by up on the chair and I rubbed her arms while playing with Mandua with the other hand. She gave friendly squeezes then growled and clawed into me again. Well not into, into, glad her claws are dull. Displaced anger maybe and some "she's mine" attitude too.

She then came down and charged past Mandua with a growl. She broke off from he and followed and leaped on her rear and a fight broke out. It lasted a bit long so I pulled him out by his tail and he went right back to playing.

She explored the closet, did her rope thing and kept an eye on us from up high until she decided to come down. She was scared of him at the time so only came down to the stool and then climbed over to the chair and desk.

Everyone settled I went back to bed and woke to Pua coming into Mandua's area hissing at the top of her lungs with a sort of whistle to it. If she were a person I'd say she was screeching at him. She later sat on the bed and took care of her needs with her tongue, showing she's in heat. Later she tried snuggling with me again but again freaked out. Some more time with herself and eventually she was settled enough to go back to bed.

Well, that's the best I remember it from my sleep deprived mind. I was about to lock one or the other of them up if they didn't settle down. So Pua was bitchy from hormones and a man she's not yet fond of in the house. I've not had her act like the before. She generally is sweeter and more playful during that time. He got riled up from her a bit too so I took to backing off when she'd come screeching at him if I was with him. She would mostly back off after yelling at him and getting close and he'd just keep playing or retreat to the closet if she pushed him.

Will just need to stay on my toes with her for the next few days. I think she needs to get knocked up. It's long over due.
