Seems getting beaten by Pua regularly has mellowed him out. I was able to slip the harness on him while he had his ketchup so took him out.
He didn't really want to be out though.

How do you open this door?

I carried him to the wood and that got his attention for a bit.

He came in and circled around to the other door into the main house but changed his mind and went to his cage. I think he was thinking about Pua attacking him there.
