It got a bit warm for him so he slept on the shelf for awhile. He sometimes sleeps with eyes partly open and you may not see it here but have seen his third eyelid across his eyes. I've never seen that on Pua.
Afternoon grooming
Log time
He's had more energy but doesn't feel like coming out yet so I gave him a termite log.
He tore into it good and carved lines in one end with his claws.
Sleeping Eldorado
Eldorado and Pua's blanket
A peed on blanket seems to be a wonderful thing. I was concerned as he'd strike the bars when he saw me holding Pua so wanted him to get used to her smell. He seems to love it so guess his "attack" was him saying "Unhand that woman!"
That's ketchup on his hammock. He got loose poop last weeks so he was getting his supplements and meds that way. Couldn't wash it because he was always sleeping in it. His poop firmed back up and he had a perfect poop last night. He scared me bad this one day though,
So I gave him his afternoon ketchup and he was laying in there whit his head and arms sticking out of the pouch looking all cute. Later he still was but had relaxed more and his arms were laying off to the side and his head off to one side.
After awhile I got to fretting that he looked too relaxed. Opened up the cage door and saw he was breathing but he didn't react. Poked at him through the hammock. no response. Shook the hammock no response. Did it harder, no response. Poked him directly and no response. He was limp and his head just rolled around. Shook him some no response. Start muttering and panicking and then shake him even harder and he finally woke up throwing his arms out ready to fight.
Turns out he was just sleeping deeply but happily for me he has been sleeping normally sense then. He also gave us a fight trying to get him out of the hammock when the vet came to see him, so he's gotten stronger.
so we were quiet while we dealt with his loose poops but it's looking good now. These guys can be such worries.
Resting on a branch
He had his head in the crook of the branch but decided he needed an arm for a pillow. Day of the vet before she arrived.
Sleeping in his dirt box
He got up early and had a serious grooming season then slept in his dirt box. So I washed his hammock.
Pua was not thrilled to be pulled from the washer but it had to be done. I tried showing her to him last night again and she was okay but then Eldorado smacked his claw on the cage. Okay he was defending his food but you are supposed to give a warning hiss first. This boy has no manners. Of course that scared Pua. Will have to find a way to try and introduce them on neutral ground when he has more energy.
At least the boy sleeps cute
Hugging his foot in his sleep
I think someone is watching me
He ate upside down for a bit before coming all the way down
Afternoon sleep
I tried to tempt him out with a termite ridden old log but he wasn't interested now.
Oh and there is a lizard hiding somewhere in my room
Alligator lizard. I've dubbed him Mr. Magoo
lizard body
He appears to be an alligator lizard. Jake caught him and set him loose in my room. He will be set free soon as I can catch him.
With recent discussion of gender differences, I had to get a pic. He wasn't very cooperative though.
Stay up a bit to late?
Cat nap
Using his tail more
He wasn't curling the end tightly around things before
Eldorado weighed 10.5 pounds first weigh and last weigh was 13 pounds. So we have some progress.
He's not getting much socialization since he sleeps so much so I tried taking him out in his hammock and holding him. I set him next to me at first and he showed me his claw for a bit then relaxed and closed his eyes but when I pushed it and tried moving the hammock again he whacked my knee so I let him go back and he went back in his hammock. I hung it up while he climbed up.

This was Pua's last trip to her hallow tree. It's no longer safe for heavy humans out there with the ground falling away to the river. If the river stays high like it is then her tree may be gone to the river soon anyway.
Where's the rocky beach?
Getting a bit wet
Crossing another fallen tree
End of the trail
This is where the rock bridge is but it's covered by water now.
Heading for the woods
You can see the river was even up this high recently. It laid down all the grass.
Checking out the river again
I will climb it
Her hallow tree
It's the middle big one. You can see how it's washing out under now. I hope it does fall in the river so I wont have to tell her no next time we go.
I apologize for another poop photos so soon but I was impressed by the size of it. He last pooped two nights ago which is the same schedule as Pua(every other night) but his poop is 2 to 3 times the size of hers.
PS there's some bits of food there too because he eats on the shelf so some falls down.
Hammock troubles
I tried to tell him a pocket hammock only has one opening but he didn't listen. He made another opening in the back side and is hanging out of that.
Stewie did the same thing to his hammock. Maybe boys would be better with a blanket hammock, where it's only stitched on two sides instead of 3.
Conserving energy
Rather than climb up and down he slept by his food till he was done for the night.
I took Pua to see Eldorado in the cage. I held her near him while he was eating. He looked up to say hi and a moment later she hiss/growled and squirmed to get away so I took her away and gave her a treat. Eldorado was unphased and went back to eating. Guess he's used to moody ladies. It took her that moment to decide to be upset though so we're making baby steps, closer.
I tried this a couple more times ans she just squirmed but didn't hiss. Her rejection seemed to depress him though.
